Expert: Russians double online purchases during Black Friday sales

MOSCOW, Dec 1 (PRIME) -- Russians’ online purchases during the Black Friday shopping event, held on November 26–28, soared to a record 85.7 billion rubles, refunds not included, from 39.7 billion rubles a year earlier, the Russian Online Retail Association (AKIT) said late on Tuesday in a statement.

Of the total amount, 14.8%, or 12.7 billion rubles is presented by foreign platforms, AKIT said.

The top categories by sales were clothes and footwear, house and garden products, electronics and household appliances, food, and goods for children.
